You stare at the cool sparkling, blue water of the ocean It is beautiful and pristine and glorious You wonder how something so heart-wrenchingly beautiful can exist in this world This world of hatred and pain and noise and bigotry and anguish You curse it for being here, taunting you with it's sublime excellence It's surface is so smooth and flat, almost metallic It looks almost solid as if you could step out on to it and walk into the sunset Wait a minute what the hell are you doing you can't walk on water Step away from the ocean and go home and lie down You never should have moved away to the coast

Second Day of Work

I fell through the world and saw things no man should see. A can of lemon-lime soda balanced on the edge of reality, told me God's true name was Shasta. Then my limbs were like gravy and my soul was like ice. I saw several more lost travelers; one with Starburst for eyes. Maybe it as after we crosssed the completely non-descript bridge, or maybe it was after we blew up the island of zinc for reasons I won't go into. But the man with the Starburst eyes imploded and left nothing but a hole back to the world. So we went our seperate ways and never saw eachother again.

Walking Tall

If I were over 300 ft tall, with the strength of a titan, I would do great things for power and glory. I would go to Japan, seeking the beasts of legend, to destroy them and take their power. First I would slay Rodan, and with his power I could kill Gammera, then I could enlist the aid of Mothra, and Godzilla would fall before our might. Turning on Mothra, I would then have the power to destroy all others who oppose me and crush the Japanese government. My glory achieved, and my power won, I would dictate control over men and finally rule the land of the rising sun.

The Fates of Men

They say up there, on the heavenly plane, that the gods play games with the fates of men. It starts with a suggestion and everyone agrees, so they gather the chips, the playing pieces, and the board, though it always takes a while to find all the dice. Then the people are chosen, usualy those with a dream, or on a quest for something, or, sometimes, those with nothing to lose, since they can be handy in a pinch. Death does not like these games, because he is often foiled, and thrown off schedule. Sometimes the gods play against eachother and bet on who will win and sometimes there is no competition, simply entertainment.
